Arriving in NYC for my pending Zero-G flight I get a big surprise. Oh, sure there was the endless phone call with the owner where he just shouted at me furiously and refused to listen to a word I said, and told me to get out of his apartment, and treated me as though I was to blame for his ceiling collapsing on the bed before I even entered the door. Fortunately, the Hyatt down the street was sympathetic to my horror story and gave me a room post haste. So, I'm now cozy in brand new digs.. and goodbye Airbnb. And so ends Day One of the Zero-G Adventure! More to come..

Even though thatโ€™s a shit situation to be in, your commentary was light and comedic. Gotta roll with it. I assume you found another place but coulda taken a couple hours :/

This is what you get in a shit hole like N.Y.C. IT HAS GOTTEN OUT OF HAND. THATS WHY PEOPLE ARE MOVING OUT IN DROVES. THANK THE DEMOCRATS RUNNING THE SHIT HOLE. THE HOMELESS LOVE IT THERE.

Definitely is water damage from somewhere. So the "Landlord" never checks this property? Give them a bad score card for sure!

I honestly think there's something wrong with someone that gushes about how awesome they think NYC is. I've met some of the worst people in my life there and gone thru some of the worst experiences of my life all in the space of 2 years living in a really nice neighborhood down there. Even my first day moving into the stupidly expensive apartment had a "welcome to NYC mother**ker" vibe to it with a $200 parking ticket. I did not shed a tear when I moved back to my place in rural Connecticut.

This must be the shortest video you have ever posted ! And strangely good also (better to see the other person's misery than experience it yourself). HANG IN THERE !!!

I feel like it was just the city letting you know that it missed you and it wanted to remind you of how wonderful it was when you lived here before ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Oof. That's bad, but it seriously looks like it just happened overnight or something before you got in there. I wouldn't think too poorly of the host because of that. It's just an unfortunate accident. It sucks for them, too, likely worse than it does for you ๐Ÿ™

As someone who works in the leisure industry I would never touch an Airbnb, the amount of regulations we have to abide by at work and all the licences we need and yet people can set up businesses like this without bothering with any legal stuff. Plus how can you know that the place has been properly cleaned?, all our cleaners are trained on the chemicals they have to use and all our bed linen is washed by a commercial laundry company (which interestingly has a Royal Warrant with their lorries liveried with the royal crest, Hyacinth would be pleased!)
Plus we should always be able to either provide alternative accommodation or have the staff to fix any issues if necessary.

Plus Airbnb's push up housing prices for locals who are the ones that are needed to service said properties.

Was this damage from the hurricane Remnants that just went through NY last week and dumped like 7 inches of rain in a day? Looks like something went wrong and since owner doesnโ€™t live there might not have known? The comments make it sound like itโ€™s intentional but clearly a unit above had a pipe break or it was the storm.

IIRC there's a scam involving renting places to people that the owners know are distressed(to say the least) and when the renter shows up and complains they say they'll move you into a better place but they won't do so until you agree to something on airbnb that apparently says you can't ask for a refund since you've been "upgraded", and then the new place ends up being worse than the old one. So be careful.

I hope u didn't pay a deposit or the full price or at least got it back. You could sue the person leasing out that place if they decided to keep the money with the evidence you have. It looks like water damage but I can see no water damage, it's a serious health and safety risk that place.

Holy shit! So this is where the next part of Fallout will be set in, I guess ๐Ÿ™‚
I'd be seriously afraid to live in a place like this. Water damage ain't no fun.
