Yea, they wouldn't show a film like this to kids today - but it is a time capsule of American teen life in the early 1970's, with lots of vintage foods. Sure the films has turned pink, but it's not the restoration that gives everything that wash of beige - life was pretty beige back then - even the food. I transferred this reel with my Eiki Telecine, so enjoy.... but TOO much!

How many calories does watching Youtube burn per hour? Probably more than television because the right YT channels make you think more..

I think they'd consider this "fat shaming" today.

Yeah water mass can account for 2 to 40 pounds depending on hydration levels; the video is an interesting view at what the perception was at the time; we know far more now.

I also have Calories Enough is Enough but's on a core and faded. It’s available on my channel.

This fat car analogy is maddeningly clumsy lol

I can gladly say I'm able to confidently "fat-shame" Amy Winehouse (at least when she was around) considering that I typically eat say a curry for breakfast, a burger (from the food van) and a stew/curry/etc for lunch, then eat a roast/beef-leg/etc alongside some veg for dinner on the regular… then chuck in the fruit-juice/smoothies/etc, the snacks (sometimes sweets, crisps, etc) and thus certainly more than one and a half of what the typical person consumes in a typical day.
Yes, I'm still trying to put on weight and somehow can't seem to be able to ._. and still unable to put on some weight even after a major crash.
I cycle everywhere and that prob has something to do with my lack of weight gain… I don't know what my hormones consist of (haven't had the blood tested for this yet), however I do know they were defo all over the place in my teenage years, that may have an effect on my lack of weight (Typically around 85KG, considering I'm 6ft 3 and most of that'll be muscle and bone.)

If they showed films like this in today's western/Anglosphere schools, the school would probably get a riot over "fat shaming".

Energy schmenergy… that's what The Man wants you to think. Calories are actually little creatures that go in your closet and sew your clothes a little tighter every night.

"so generally wet foods contain fewer calories"
and one of the "wet foods" shown is a glass of coke – a wet "food" that seems to challenge physical laws by containing more sugar than what can me dissolved in a glass of water.

The fact that both calories and kcal (kilocalories) are called calories by people on TV probably won't help anyone 🤣

Hi Fran. Wow! There was enough "corn" in there to satiate a small herd of cows! 😆 An interesting look back. Thank you.

This is one of really interesting documental films what I see on English)

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Scott Thomas says:

No "Walmart sized" people in this film…
