I didn't hear anything about the deadly poisonous radiation that will last for years afterwards! That makes me want to paint my teeth with radium and change all of the door knobs with uranium glass in my house.

"…the other? Spick and clean. Tidy,…" looks around his room*…*starts cleaning while talking to the camera -Well, you never know when one goes off so…I swear to got this was made to boost paint sales

  3. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Thomas LaMora says:

really sucks that they outlawed lead paint for residential use in the 70's. we could have had a few more coats on by now…

I never really considered how important the specific heat capacity of a mm of paint!

  4. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Robert Cerney says:

Well daaang, I live within nuking distance from a major army base. Guess I better paint my house, been meaning to get to it, just been putting it off. No time like nuke time! I wonder if its really a lead paint thing, or would latex paint provide similar protection with ablation? It seemed that the paint evaporated off more than provided shielding.

  5. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Michael Marks says:

I'll go tidy up my house then. I hear North Korea's aim is not too good. 😉 BTW in view of the latter, ever considered hazmat suits for the family? They are cheap on Ebay. I checked.
Neh. This is totally disingenuous. Seriously tho' what's the cheapest way to insulate yourself (never mind property) against fire, floods tsunames earthquakes, chemical contamination and nuclear blasts and radiation? A simple affordable package.

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars I'm Me says:

I had no idea that our government did such extensive testing. All of this makes sense. Even if you are not preparing for atomic bombs, you might be preparing for California forest fires. All of the things recommended in this film will help a house to survive a wildfire.

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Kasper Abigail says:

lol this is clearly a marketing ploy or something like the bible, to get people to be more civilized which I like. I mean, who cares if it all burns? Even if you managed to survive, you wont be sticking around or go back.

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars James Drissel says:

I wonder how much intumescent paint might help in wildfire situations. Probably not as good as clearing brush and creating fire breaks, but people have been fined for cutting brush that was just going to burn standing where it was. Makes no sense at all. But if you live in a place where wildfires happen you should pick a paint with an intumescent additive when you paint. But a coat of paint, maybe not even intumescent paint, perhaps even sprayed over doors and windows without masking, cleaning or surface prep just before you leave might prevent the structure itself from burning.

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars This Is Your Captain Speaking says:

The importance of good housekeeping cannot be understated. Reminds me of when I was in public school, we used to have emergency drills where we'd get under our school desks and cover the back of our head and neck using our hands.

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars REA Electric says:

It is not the radiation you need to worry about it is the bad paint job and untidiness. I didn't consider myself a target until a few days ago thanks AUKUS and our Prime Minister 'That Fellow From Down Under'. Australia doesn't need nuclear subs but here we are. I borrow a paintbrush, anyone?

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Gus Tziavelis says:

ridiculous gov't propaganda which a lot more people believed at the time than do in hindsight, only happened in the 1940s, and could never happen in the 2020s, because we're advanced now. NOT! that's the troubling thing; people of the 2100's will rightly laugh at us in the same way, because we're falling for 2020-era propaganda.
