And don't send them to me to review. They just end up in my parts bins disassembled! High voltage transformers and AC fans are always handy for projects though. I just used one to remove smoke smell after a lithium ion battery started my bedroom on fire. It was an absolute life saver. Ozone generators are incredibly useful when used responsibly.

These boxes are often use in cars to eliminate bad smells. This is also helpful when car air conditioning systems stinks by bacteria.

There are parts that can be used in other projects. Such as those cooling fans.

A bit early for April fools gag gifts isnโ€™t it?

I worked at an autobody shop that used one if those machines to remove strong odors from a vehicles interior. It seemed to work. I never knew of the harm it has

I work at a car dealership, vehicles that've been smoked in or have any various organic smells get thoroughly cleaned and exposed to the ozone for an hour or two. The cars will be left there for a day or two, by the time you come back it's like magic, all the odor has been oxidized away. I'd say that's a pretty strong usage case for a device like this, a one time use to remove odor from an enclosed space, specifically one with no occupants until the ozone has had time to finish oxidizing the odor.

The constant evaluation of the monetary side of things such as if itโ€™s a free ad or whatever is so sadโ€ฆ itโ€™s amazing any videos are made at all.

In HVAC in a residential setting ultraviolet lights can be installed in your ventilation system . I install them with one on the underside of your air conditioners evaporator coil and one above . Any bacteria that grows on a coil that stays wet ( from condensation ) with be eliminated and this also kills anything in the air as well . I have replaced coils in units that had lights in the ductwork and they are clean as new

The best use for an ozone generator is: putting it in a stinky car overnight. Bam! No more funky smells. (Obviously don't be in the car.)

Fran, Iโ€™m a product engineer for Panasonic, now in my 43rd year. We used to see VCRโ€™s come in for service where all the rubber components were decomposed. I tried sharing related comments with Clyde but he deleted them and never posted them.Ozone can be deadly!

Back in my twenties one of my friends' neighbors was an older lady and was convinced that the ozone generators were helping. She also started developing lung problems and coughs constantly. She had one of those things in every single room of the house. I walked in there and was knocked over by the smell. Almost immediately gave me a headache and I could not stay in there. I tried to tell her that yeah the ozone is killing the bacteria but it's also slowly killing you. She wouldn't believe me though. They moved away soon thereafter and I'm not sure whatever happened to her and her ozone generators. I'm hoping maybe once she got out of that house and away from so much of it she started feeling better and might have thought maybe what I was telling her was actually true. That it's the ozone itself that's making you sick.

Ozone generators are not supposed to be used for occupied rooms. They are for fumigation of a room that is closed up and cleared of people.

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars J.C. Wise says:

One time I was in someone's home who had an ozone ionizer and he had it full blast, that I could not stand it. So he turn it down. He had one because he had lung problems from smoking, but now I think he made his lungs problem worse by using an Ionizer. He died from the damage to his lungs.

The Terminator movies would be a lot less dramatic if Skynet just built giant ozone generators.
