Time to condense a discussion that I have been reading about for many months. What to do about it is pretty simple, but will things change for the better in the years ahead? Very likely not. I do expect more of the same, but perhaps sometime after the children of today become the adults of tomorrow, some future generations will reexamine what had happened to humanity all those years ago when we collectively decided to let children be raised by software instead of nature. I would like some Captain Crunch though. Pretty bad, actually. Enjoy!

Growing up for me and my siblings and family the transistor radio was the most advanced piece of tech in our home other than a vacuum tube tv.
No latchkey kids in my family, there was always an adult home for us and that was "Mom".
My Father was the only one who worked outside the house.
But that was the late 50's early 60's.
Now days both parents usually work because they have to, unless they are an extremely wealthy family or some kind of religious cult family where it's a sin for mom to work outside the home as another breadwinner. 🥴
Even so us kids were always roaming in the wild, safely without a single ounce of tech anywhere to be found.
    Other than that transistor radio.

Agree 100%. Surprised how few kids i see these days riding their bikes outside or kicking a ball etc. They seem to prefer the indoors, sedentary lifestyle crowded around a cellphone — the electronic babysitter. Love the title of this video, by the way.

kids are being programmed by phones. not parents. you should be aware how many shrinks are employed by wall street to have kids crackout by phone. and not experiencing life. lost generations are coming. i know work with several "kids" that can't walk between buildings without staring mindlessly at phones. even after they are stunned by how i'm so aware of my surroundings. it's really bad to work with. phones have to remove all phones. free range latchkey must return. sure, every generation fears the next. but this time it's different. it's the borg. hive minds.

we also never thought about losing our house from medical bills. our family doc fixed everything for $25. kids now are too expensive.

Hey Fran, a question you can probably answer for me:

I doubt you did it, but I think youtube quarantined one of my posts, talking about having a tiered internet based on age. Did it happen to tell you what I specifically said that got it quarantined? I'd like to know so I can avoid it in the future.

P.S. Had to deliver an A/C unit (2) which was going on top of the roof at an elementary school. While waiting for the crane, I watched the kids at recess. Fran, they had know idea on how to play together. It was the saddest and most bizarre thing I've seen. They didn't even know how to talk to one another. This country is in big trouble & nobody seems to give a crap. I know that you do or else this video wouldn't be here. Best wishes Fran.

I hear you Fran. The situation of which you speak, will be the downfall of the human race. It has already begun & you can see it happening. As far as TV when growing up, we didn't have it. Most of the time, I was on a tractor in the fields. Have TV now & it's horrible. 90% commercials. It's expensive, since they went to so called (digital). 12 miles away from the station & can't receive it. What a joke. But you are right with this phone biz> which again is very expensive.
