It’s really too bad you were stuck up using that equipment I’m afraid to say… Had you just used some cheap, miniature stuff that you could’ve had on you and recording from the very beginning, none of this would’ve been a problem…
I haven't done any free-floating zero-g time, but I'd love to give it a try! Amazing experience I bet. I do completely understand the exhaustion however, since I've done some high-G time (Up to 6G's, which I will tell you hurts a lot and takes some special techniques to stay functional.) Zero-G seems pretty easy, as you say, but high-G time kicks your ass and doesn't stop. My personal experience with high-G comes courtesy of the USN and some contract work I did back in the late 80's. They teach you the proper techniques, and you do have special equipment to help control some of your blood flow, since the body really can't maintain proper flow above 2.5G or so for any time depending on the vector. And I was in much better shape back then – not sure how I'd handle it today.
I think that it is incredible that you can describe the experience with us like this. It's just as good. Would we have gotten as much insight just watching the footage? This is awesome, sorry about the trouble surrounding it.
The company creators have often issued guidelines about preparation and body stress. They also state that people should focus memory and this implies, to me at least, that attempting various experiments not prepared with staff was expecting too much of all concerned, including the horde of other people on board who also paid a lot to have the zero G experience.
This reminds me of the one time we thought we could film some amazing footage from inside a Cessna piloted into a steep descend, but then as it happened, we had a cabin full of lenses and other camera equipment floating around for seconds, before all the expensive things came crashing down onto the floor as the manouver ended… it's difficult to aptly anticipate the forces involved, their timing and effect on equipment on these unusual and rare gravitational experiences. Murphy's law will get you every time.
I go slammed about hydrogen here when I mentioned that here on YT a lot of "scientists here said that its much better going be saying like "YT scientists ha ha yeah right more arm chair ones this moron would rather keep watching the brothers poke that corpse in that forest in Japan FYI is still their biggest money maker all I have here is science, space, crafts, electronics, military, tech, innovation. as for the narrators they get cheated. except those brothers they get top dollar a former friend told their secret not too long ago on social media someone told me I don't have it.
It seems like you had to much expectations on what you would be able to do when coming to experiments. Instead of just emerge in the experience and let everything else go. But still, its a once in a lifetime experience. (Or twice, I bet you will be on that plane once again) 😉
I'm glad you had fun! That was the important part after all. Anything you could record will be welcome and I think if you decide to go a second time, you'll be better prepared. I'd call the mission a success! 😀
We stuck GoPros to the wing tips in extreme positive and negative G, very few issues, we speed fly off scraggly mountainsides and the GoPros just keep running. Strange to hear your opinion of the diminutive little cameras. You should have just enjoyed it – gotten quite used to you not having your varied and complex expectations met but it’s really disappointing that this much hyped/anticipated event didn’t blow your mind like we all hoped it would. Maybe it’s a reality check. Maybe plan another one?

Amazing! Even if you had no footage, your description is so vivid that this video would still be enjoyable. It's amazing how tech almost always acts weird or fails when we need it most, without fail! The important thing is that you enjoyed yourself and that you achieved this goal of yours in life! Also 10/10 for that awesome Cramps tshirt!
Does any of your non-working gear has a mechanical hard drive ? They don't like 0g because they think they are falling and will hit the ground, so go into safe mode if that happens. Let's hope you can go again and enjoy it even more!
