Cool echo plate my friend's brother had one in his recording studio
the things I would do to spend a day in the lab nerding out with Fran!
your hat is really cool/interesting…

Thanks for doing these amazing videos. Your plate reverb is reminding me of an idea I had when I used to play guitar live. I liked the idea of using actual effects, not simulated. In my fantasy guitar rig, I thought it would be fun to mic swimming pool under water level in an 18-wheeler parked outside the bar I'd be playing at and run a long 1/4" cable to my guitar path to add the 'wet' signal. Ha! Obviously I didn't do it but it sounds like a fun idea!
Wow a plate echo! I didnt know how they worked , I thought it would be just a spring reverb w a plate, Cool. I see ya still run a Tascam porta-studio. I bought mine in '85 and it worked great over 20 years. I cant seem to throw it out cause, Wow, what a little machine, unlike todays digital crap, ya turned it on and started recording and it worked everytime and no need for an audio to audio converter. I think somebody is artificially holding back digital audio. How did we come all this way with memory and video and storage but a 2 meg audio file is still bogged down and delayed? I have 20 gbts or Ram and 6 terrabits storage. How is that even possible that theres not one step forward in the last 25 yrs?
One of my only regrets is that I only just recently found your channel. Wow the amazing things you do are a real treat for nostalgic relics like me lol. Ty for your amazing drive and love for the things we grew to love and cherish.
The shirt is awesome.
You are frantastic!
Ah yes reverb. When I was at WDOM we used to put a boom box tuned to the station with the volume set just so. Of course we did experiments with phase crossover too.
❤
Fran, FranLab is now my favorite channel. We're very much alike. It only took 2 or 3 videos for me to realize this. Thanks so much for doing the film transfers. I love them all.
Are there any things you need in the area of sound and synths? I'd be happy to contribute something for your lab.
Fran your a nerds hero!!!
