That bench is almost perfect not only has stood the test of time, still works and wears its scars(lack of a better term) wonderfully tremendous find how did you get this ?
kinda funny i have a similar style bench except mine is a orginally 3 drawers with air space and a owner probably after ww2 added a 4th to make it higher judging from the materials and nails/screws used and on the side your plane stop is added a metal workers vice and mine too is covered in cigarette burns there is a cutout in the tool tray were an ashtray is fitted im guessing it original as its hammered iron guessing the original carpenter was a big smoker
WOW! As a hand tool woodworker, that is a bench to envy. My next and third or fourth bench will replicate many of those useful features (minus the cigar burns). Those handcut dovetails in the end vise are soooo sexy!

I have the exact same bench except mine doesn't have the drawers at the bottom got it from my grandfather who was a carpenter in the 1950s in Germany

Thoose benches are common here in sweden, the pegs are made of steel ( here ) and every school got a bunch of theese benches in wood shop. I've got one that I got from a school for free since they where buying new ones. So I sort of grew up with thoose benches and I love them. Downside is that they are not portable at all so where you put it is where it's going to stay 🙂
