Loving the engineering gone into this clock.
Fran, great video. Do you have any recommendations for entirely 3d printed fastening systems? I'm working on a project similar to yours with a pieces of an outer shell that need to fasten together. For the challenge of it, I'm designing it to be entirely 3d printed.
Why using autocad for a simple thing like this?
The best tool for this is OpenScad.
Just set the right values in:
difference() {
cube([20,20,5],center=true);
translate([0,0,-3]) cylinder(r=7.5, h=10 ,$fn=6);
}
And render it. A cylinder that is rendered with 6 faces make a perfect nut 🙂
Yes, I do like and look forward to them.
Fran you are my electronic projects idol!
Watching your videos for year and years now.
Ken
Fran are you gonna mass produce your clock and sell it ??
Simple Elegance…. the best!
This channel should be shown in every middle-school classroom in the country. Not only to provide a fantastic inspiration for girls interested in tech, but also to show all nerds how to not be so self-aggrandizing and to just be a maker for the sheer pleasure of it.
Love it!
Fran. How about creating these nut-enclosures from wood ? Does your CNC machine have that resolution?
It honors the old traditions… You're right Fran.
