I think the two at the same time, seem a lot more realistic (not enough for everyone so you throw a nuclear bomb to reduce the population, nothing new here
As usual the young have no experience, no power, no wealth and face an uphill battle but have plenty of time. The old have the power, the wealth, the experience and are coasting toward their end but have no time and really no drive to fix things or lest lay the groundwork. Are there exceptions? Sure, but it’s not the majority.
Maybe nuclear war (nuclear winter) will cancel global warming. /snark
There is a third option, being bored to death with talk about climate change.( clearly a earn model to sell large amounts of people stuff they really don't need )

Reality is that the economy and humans will adapt; both always have. None of this happens at an unmanageable pace. None of this happens suddenly. It was warmer at numerous points in history long before the Industrial Revolution and humans did just fine, still here. There is no climate crisis, period.

All symptoms of a collective madness that have overtaken people who have become obsessed with causes they do not understand. Population theory clearly points to a substantial and sustained decline (some say collapse) of human population. That this is nothing new in the history of the planet is well known as other species thrived and then went into decline. We may be smart but we are not very clever.

And some of Koch-like criminals have the gall to claim that stopping the anthropogenic climate change would be "too expensive" and that this is a "leftist plot" to "undermine the American way of life".
The apocalypse is pretty much happening now: with the global pandemic, economy grinding to halt and then not recovering completely, forcing more and more people into poverty, homelessness and hunger… And as for the choice of apocalypse, it will be made by some mad fuckwits in suits and uniform; we can only prepare for it and whatever comes next. The plague originating in China and all the global unrest sounds very familiar. We may not even have to wait until 2077…
