Is there an alternative to Youtube to upload your videos to that has any traction? Maybe they are subtly trying to make content creators migrate to other platforms, so they don't get accused of monopolizing 😀
we need a different platform to create on. This is happening to a lot of the creators I support. This mandatory ad crap is just that, crap! YouTube is on the road to implosion. I don't want to see you go.
Hello Fran, just been introduced to your content and looking forward to seeing more.. as a consumer of content I have found that the number of ads shown generally has got to the point that I am looking to find another platform rather than Youtube.. can't help feeling they are killing the golden goose… have you tried changing the length of your content.. .. ie more but of a shorter length.. just a thought. I wonder what you were saying means for new content creators just starting out.. cheers Dave

It's not just UToob Fran, it's the entire world now. Everything is a subscription. Everything is pay to win. The stratification of the classes is here, not coming… it's here.
YouTube creators should be filing a class-action lawsuit for these shenanigans. They cannot unilaterally change contract terms without notice. I'm at a point of blocking ads on YouTube because why should they get rich on the backs of creators.

How about this for an idea….a website that you can post video reviews to and recommend to others. No pay, no ads, bypass the yt algorithm altogether. You look up a topic then click the link. What happens when all their traffic becomes external?
How much will it cost? Likely more than your pittance you get from ad revenues.
Saw somewhere that advertising has never been less effective. Clickthru’s are rare. The money they make is decreasing or stagnant. So they have to a) increase advertising or b) reduce payout or c) charge more to advertisers or d) charge content creators or e). All of the above.
Ultimately they want content for free and to maximize profits.
