Windows 10 Pro, it is possible to control the updates through the Group Policy Editor. Windows 10 Home does not allow user access to Group Policy Editor. The changes have to be done directly in the registry. I myself have not had any issues with Windows 10 Pro. I have 2 super micro system servers and three work stations on a network. All are Win 10 Pro.
I like your videos. Very interesting.
Hi Fran……I'm in a similar situation as you regarding my health……I had to discontinue doing delicate electronics work due to my unsteady hands, the medication for it was worse than the shaky hands! I've been in radio & electronics since ten years of age back in the 40's, it has been my life. By the way, I have had a similar experience with the last Windows 10 update on my older laptop but not on the newer desk top computer, by the way, YT has discontinued eMailing notifications on subscribed channels……now you must go to YT and check the bell at the top right to find out new videos you subscribed to or if you have a Smart TV, you can check your YT subscriptions there for new videos. I enjoy your videos, take care of your health as best you can. Thankyou Walt in Miami
please switch on subtitles [CC] Closed captioning
Go Linux Mint 19.3. I was a Windows user since W95! Windows 10 is the reason I went Linux. Also W10 is full of spyware. Its always reporting home to MS on what you are doing!
Its time to change Fran.
i have windows 10 creative update option disabled i only allow windows 10 install security
You do get a little bit of control with Windows 10 IF you upgrade to PRO – once upgraded, you can defer Feature updates for 365 days and Quality updates for up to 30 days. Enterprise version has control too. Home is the one that has zero control. Since my updates are deferred, I am not having any issues whatsoever.
I used to have notifications turned on for all my favs, but had to turn them all off. I simply have not enough hours in a day to watch every new video, along with email, facebook, messenger, twitter, text messages, skype.. i was inundated daily.. so had to unsub, change emails, and downsize just to stay sane, and have my life back.
Windows10 is just junk. Imagine what havoc it's causing for businesses when Thier valuable time is interrupted constantly and unpredictably. Garbage, absolute utter trash. I hope they get sued for millions for the loss of production and loss of revenue they're causing businesses. No wonder Bill bailed.
I'm subscribed to 100+ channels and only enable notifications if they often do live streams I'm interested in or upload very rarely. Anything more would bury me in notifications.
use oosu10
set wifi to a metered connection and updates wont download
This is my first encounter with you, checked out some of your videos and love them, and have subscribed….if your not vegan, I've gone to an all "Meat" diet for over 2 months now, and all my health issues have disappeared…I also take a table spoon of cherry juice concentrate, and a teaspoon of cod liver oil everyday, and one square of chocolate….I feel better than I have in years…also do a half hour a day on a tread mill just walking, and do calisthenics…..hope you feel better soon !
What is your profession are you a scientist and if so in what field.
40%, it's only a matter of time.
Hi Fran. There are two ways to stop autoupdates in Win 10. Look up "Windows 10 metered connection" and turn on metering. Very simple. Windows thinks you have limited bandwidth and won't do any major updates. You can turn it back off when you want updates to come through. Otherwise, look up "group policy stop updates windows 10". You can set the group policy to alert you without installing updates like in Win 7. Hope that helps
