Congratulations to Ben for making it to the Moon - The significant financial and time resources that were slated for the completion of my own DSKY Display Project will be redirected to more productive and original projects this summer. Thanks everyone!

FRAN ROCKS!!!!!
Fran your original DSKY research video Pt. 1 was the best story ever it captured my imagination no one can tell a story like you
Am I the only one who 'gets' it? The sad thing was that Applied Science commented on her original video 6 years ago, so you know where he got the idea from, just sad he didn't reach out to collaborate. I TOTALLY see where Fran is coming from on this. I love Applied Science, but it was kinda a dick move IMO. Hey ho.. Onwards and upwards I guess.
I hope you will still finish your display! Since you've already done so much research for this project. And because it would be awesome to see you build it
Fran, I have 1.5 kg of electro phosphor specifically for these displays. E525 ZnS(Cu)
But using those relays.. perhaps would have made a cool click sound….
Ben used modern chips… keep going… do the discrete version.
You seem to have given in to depression. Ben has not COMPLETED a FULLY authentic display, which he himself is stating.
Frankly, I hope that you both get together on the phone and chat about this. I know that the 50th Anniversary has come and gone but I feel kinda let down, now. 🙁
Think "relays"!
Please continue!
What exactly did you do during those 6 years? Have you just decided to stop procrastinate on the dsky project?
Kinda sad you didn't finish it. Came to your channel specifically to see it. Don't care what someone else has done. Wanted to see your take on it. Oh well. Maybe you'll pick it up again at some point, at to say "hey I finished it, isn't it cool?". At least that's what I'm going to hope for.
Come on Fran, you cannot let yourself be beaten by one project. Your loyal and loving fans (and there are a gozillion of us out there) do not care whether you were or were not the first to achieve the DSKY display – you have so much more to offer – and no-one is simply going to stop watching. It was a quirk of fate and now you are now freed up to pursue other projects. Love & Hugs from the UK.
Hi Fran! I'd love to see you still complete your version of the DSKY display. I don't care that someone else did it first. Heck, someone did it first 50 years ago!! Please don't give up.
Fran, the absolute first thing I thought of when I saw Applied Science's video, is that he must have been inspired to do the work by watching some of your videos. Your enthusiasm for old display technology definitely comes across loud and clear in your videos, and you have a real appreciation for what makes old technology great. I felt that the Applied Science video was a testament to how curious and talented minds are inspired by one another. Personally I would love to see this as a case of internet collaboration, where Ben's video is research into how to construct such a display with modern processes, and your videos would focus on how to keep it as original as possible.
At the end of the day we are all here because you build and talk about cool shit and put it on the internet. If you build a DSKY display I have no doubt it will be awesome and retro, and will blow the internet's mind.
Of course, you should do as you see best with your channel's finances, but please don't see this as a race. There will always be trolls who will say it's not the first as I'm sure you well know, but you can't rate yourself by the most negative voices.
Fran, your channel to me is not about getting there first with something..but more as to what you share in the way of ideas, the breakdown of the process of doing something and what you put into it to be as accurate as possible..some of the things i have seen on your channel i have never seen before..that diversity. is what keeps me watching and enjoying your content, you have an enjoyable awesome mind.. i hope to enjoy the output for along time..cheers
