Oh please do you really expect me to take my time watching you bellyache about your personal financial problems? I really subscribe to your channel for the intellectual stimulation instead of a crybaby on YouTube.
Im so glad you did this koz i found you from big clive ❤️
Fran, you remind me of a great friend I lost a while back. Your lab is like his place that he would piddle around on things to get them working or just to see how they worked. You remind me so much of him. Thank you so very much for being who you are.
Like when facebook locked me out of my account and was telling me that my operating system in a round about manner, was not supported.
They were asking me to put a 64 bit browser on a 32 bit system… Really…
After all the effort of switching my system over to 64 bit, I was lucky to find that my machine was 64 bit and sold to me as 32 bit!
So I was able to update operating system to 64 bit but even then, I was still being told that my browser was out of date despite being the most current.
Don't tell the intelligent people at YouTube that…
'no one actually watches / takes any notice of ads'
Just do what you need to do, to continue doing what you love. We will manage, you are not selling out.
Keep up the Frantastic work.
All the best for 2019
Unsubscribed!
This is not what I'm here for!
I told myself if Fran does another whiney video, I'll unsub!
I haven't got time for this, with over 100 YT videos to catch-up on.
Monetize it all. I'll do a re-run with much glee. 🙂
I can verify that up until I subscribed (Big Clive sent me!), I had seen NO recommendations for your channel. I saw the video where you went through the statistics. Rolling through these recommended educational channels is how I found AvE, Electroboom, Cody's Lab, etc…
I was amazed how I had NOT found yours?
I am super glad I have a back catalog of your videos to go through though! Your content is worth far more than you'll receive per view/click, but keep the ads!
Get Sterilite plastic shoe boxes. Use paper labels on the front, and each one gets labeled with what's inside. I have over a hundred of them stacked three wide and two high to a shelf, which means I can hold with one hand, and pull with the other. Works for my household parts, hobby parts, computer parts, and everything else.
Honestly, I'm happy to watch an ad or two if it helps you keep producing your awesome content. Also, I agree with other comments about Patreon having tripped an anti-fraud trigger… it's OK, we all understand and it doesn't reflect poorly on you. Keep up the good work, and hang in there. You have lot of fans pulling for you!
These software issues are the result of the 'developer' (what idiocy led to that parlance?) mindset reliant on bloated, erroneous scripting libraries starting with the Web3 push to RAD. Thankfully some ad-blockers demonstrate that not all programmers want or need to sit on a beanbag in order to get the job done. Don't feel bad about monitization… I, like many others here, have no allegiance to Google.
Hi Fran, I got this comment from a friend of mine re Monatization not sure if it helps "YouTube are at the mercy of the advertisers, who started to complain last year about their ads appearing on questionable content and started to pull their ads, so YouTube in a panic deployed a machine learning algorithm to detect certain content and promote "clean" videos. This obviously didn't work very well and negatively affected everyone, even if you didn't run any ads. That's probably what's going on here.
It was called the adpocaplyse".
I'v always enjoyed your Engineering videos, hope you get back on air soon, Good luck with your move, cheers Liam
(For what it's worth, Fran, I watched a handful of your videos ages ago, forgot about you — sorry! 🙂 — and just in the past couple of days, YouTube has started reminding me of you again with recommendations. So… maybe something's workin.' Thought you'd want to know.)
(EDIT: Later, re: 'being sick of third-party companies' — *preach it.*)
