coming here a bit late. for the speaker, print a retainer with nubs for 4 bolts. this way you can replace it if it fails. yes the bolt heads will be on the outside and take away from aesthetics.
pcb way, even prototype…
'Not built to scale', hahaha!!
Thank you Fran for these interesting videos.
Hi Fran! Please never drill holes with your handshoes on!!!!! if you came in it could dismember your finger or a part of it! thats why you should never work with handshoes on rotarying tools! Thanks for the video showing the process of making your pcb's. you are so aresome!
beep beep beep! loved the etching part. timing and a steady hand..
Turning 60 sucks. I couldn't hear the beeps any more. Click, click, click. ๐
"Not built to scale". Hahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa snort!
For hot glue ugliness, I go back over it lightly with a hot air pencil to smooth the surface. Might no be possible in your printed plastic enclosures. Also, where possible, preheat the surfaces with the hot air pencil and then apply the hot glue. It will flow and fill and not make "spider webs" all over the place.
Great work ! Thanks for those videos !
Fran, what do you do with all those long stripped and tinned through-hole component scrap leads? I, being the skinflint that I, am save the ones of usable length to use as zero ohm jumpers on perf-board prototypes it saves time and money.
Does anyone else remember geranium transistors. "Geranium" was a common typo in the early days of solid state in construction magazines.
