I like your idea for a line of 'Frankits'.
Maybe start with a few simple projects as seen on FranLab?
A breadboard, diodes, resistors and LEDs. soldering gun not included.
Take a look at the Lulzbot 3D printers. I bought a Taz 6 4 weeks ago. I choose it for a number of reasons. I also wanted a 3D printer that could deliver good prints right away. The Taz 6 takes less then an hour from unboxing to running. Lulzbot has settings for many different types of filaments it sells, making them pretty much plug and play. A couple that interested me where Taulman's nylon products and NinjaFlex plastic rubber. It's also not a cartridge system so can use any 3mm filament out there. I have already used Hatchbox PLA, I just needed to change the filament diameter from 2.85 to 3 mm in Cura. I also liked the Lulzbot is all open source. The entire design and software is available on the web. Lulzbot has the reputation of being solid printers made in Colorado with excellent support. I was also impressed with what James Bruton has done at XRobots with his Lulzbot printers.

YES! Merch please!
Consider using Teespring (which the Amphour uses), it has reasonable postage costs to Australia… 😀
this person just about always has useful information. Who else is like that? Fran Blanche is too good for words. Thank you for Making our channel.
Fran, lulzbot mini. I had a diy and have been printing for a couple years now. Hands down the lulzbot mini is the best off the shelf, robust thing you can get for the price IMO of course :).
It is so funny. Before this even got started I was thinking, 'Box of Teledyne relays!' …..
Can't Teledyne donate these from NOS or something?
Fran, you can't let trolls get to you. If you're not going to be a small channel, you're going to get some.
Also, if you stream, get someone to moderate the damn comments.
+EEVblog Dave Jones, I'm talking to you too! People were posting swastikas all over your chat!
Love Your Video's Fran .
Here's an idea that you may or may not have thought about. Promotional tee shirts with Frantone colors and graphics to match Frantone products. They can also have a small youtube logo in let say the lower right front with the name Fran Blanche to advertise your channel. These can be sold along side your Frantone products as well as through your youtube channel. Between Frantone customers, and Youtube subscribers you have a much larger demographic and these Tee shirts become walking, talking billboards for your products and channel. You make a profit on each Tee sold and advertising brings future customers and subscribers to both Frantone and your youtube channel.
Great to have you back, Fran! Don't underestimate the communities out there. There might be ways to get stuff sponsored, such as chemicals, machinery, other stuff you need. Happy new year, and best of luck! 🙂
love the channel and your personality and knowledge.
Great you are back onboard your ship.
Best luck Martin.
Let's do it… make a go fund me page, I'm onboard …. I want that DSKY 😀
How about outsourcing some of the things to enthusiasts? I mean for instance the CNC milling. I am sure someone has a machine , who also has the digs on a DSKY?
I'll give you a Mac pro, I emailed you. Fran
