I attended the Vintage Computer Festival on April 6, 2014 in Wall New Jersey, and there was so much cool stuff on exhibit that I have to break up the days events into three separate videos.
There was a lot of Commodore stuff on display, so part one is all Commodore - just for the Commodore fans! Special appearance by Bil Herd and many other Commodore nuts and their cool machines. Enjoy!

I spent hours transcribing that bouncing ball program, from the monthly magazine, to my C64, then countless hours wondering what I'd done wrong, only to discover – a month later, that there were typos in the publication – I was so angry!
MOS trainer. drool.
1's and 0's, that's all it is, if you can count that far and accept that 1 is on and 0 is off, you're halfway there to becoming a programmer!… lol!.. I can count to zero, and a bit… or is it a byte? haha!…
11 minutes and 20 seconds of drowning in nostalgia.
Fran, thankyou for posting this – absolutely made my day! +1 new subscriber ๐
I have several C 64 computers, 1541 floppy drives. I also have a plus 4 NEW in the box! Not been used other then booting it up once just to check out the display! Willing to sell some of them!
Shirt is missing run statement, so it should still be the two shades of blue ๐ Cool tour! Wish we had stuff like this in Denmark. ๐
That was here in Jersey? Doh! I missed it. When is the next one?
Wow. ย I really can't believe I missed this. ย OY.
Man. ย I miss this festival every year. ย I always find out about a month later. ย And, you were there this yearm too?! ย Crazy. ย I sent them a note. ย Hopefully they'll remind me next year. ย I'll come out! ย That's a threat. ย Thanks for the fun vid!
Back in 1984 I had a friend who had a Commodore 64 that he wanted to trade me for a 1982 Yamaha 650 motorcycle that I had. I thought that was the most ridiculous thing in the world….I didn't know the first thing about a computer and as far as I know there wasn't any internet available to (us) back then.
And another time back in about 1996 I had an ultralite airplane that a guy wanted to trade a computer to me for and he kept saying: "But its a Pentiumn four". lol
I was so clueless…..but I still wouldn't have traded my bike or ultralite for either one. lol
Oh I forgot to say that Im a hillbilly in the Appalachian mountains of Virginia….we are in the a**hole of the world. The last to get access to anything, so all that was foreign language to me at the time.
I never saw a cordless phone until about 2001 and we never got cell towers until just a few years ago….2008?
Im in a one mile circle that has broadband internet…..everyone else still has dial up or none at all!!!. Believe that or not!
I love your posts. Thank you so much.
George
Great stuff! The PET live video was terrific, and I loved the peek at that Sol-20, PCjr etc ๐
Wicked tee. I must secure one of these for myself. Looks like there was some really neat stuff there.
Using a GHz smartphone with an arduino to do something with an old pathetic computer… seems a little misguided.
We have superluminal ET ships flying in our atmosphere. Don't waste your lives on the useless past. If you want to try something cool, build an automatic spinning antenna connected to a spectrum analyzer and look for high power RF profiles that move fast in our atmosphere. Be sure to save the signal if you can.ย
I expect it to be broadband with some peaks in the 1-10GHz range and down to ~100MHz. Possibly modulated around 7Hz and up in the audio range.
Fran,ย thanks for posting….a blast from the past for sure!
I was wondering who you were! I asked where do you live. You said, "Are any of us really alive?". Yes, I did get your t-shirt POKE 646,1 (make the text color white), POKE 53280,0 (make the border color black) POKE 53281,0 (make the background color black). So this basic listing is a reflection of the t-shirt.
