I tried playing a Theremin for the first time at the InfoAge Science Center Museum. This is a solid state Moog theremin and though I know about the theory behind the Theremin I honestly had never actually played one before. Thanks to the museum staff too, as I commandeered one of the guides to hold the camera for me while I tried this thing out. Don't worry.... I won't quit my day job!

place left hand over the loop antenna and raise for loud lower for soft, that way you can concentrate on the notes on right hand much better

Reminds me of the time I was at a state fair and a guy let me work the pedals of a player piano. I was kind of jazzed to do it, frankly.

Thankfully Bob Moog also was pivotal in the development of the modern synthesizer. ย Theremins are interesting in some senses, but I would personally not want to try to make music with them ๐Ÿ™‚

All your music should be cuts and reverb blends of themes done with this !

I'd love to have one of those but I think my cat would move out after a day of two.

I made a crude one transistor metal detector when i was 12, I used an am radio to pick up an RF signal and slightly detuned the radio. The set up worked fine as a metal detector and if I waved my hands around the coil it acted as a Theremin.

Please put the audio through a notch filter to get rid of some of that 237.75 Hz tone in the background. The sooner you do it the less view counts you'll lose. If you don't have one around I'd be honored to do it.

Wow, I'm build one right now as part of my final tech project.

๐Ÿ™‚ I have a moog etherwave,.. easy to "play," incredibly hard to master

sometimes people "cheat" by playing with headphones in, it allows you to hear the note before bringing the volume up, but still kinda hard to play,.. would help if you're learning though.

clara rockmore was one of the best thereminists if you're interested in listening to more
