OMG.
I had the same kit!
It didn't seem to work, at first.
I was so excited soldering parts in, I neglected to observe polarity on the main filter cap.
Didn't smoke it, but the pressure-vent 'X' did swell a bit.
Reversed the cap, worked fine!
Clock worked for years, lost it during a move.
Fran you are doing great and I understand what your struggles, I am the same way, I do video's around Kerbal Space Program and all my videos are live and uncut, ( Altered Aerospace ). This isn't a sneaky way of self promotion but a way of showing how I started and how I am now in the YouTube world.. Again Love your video's Fran !!DON'T STOP!!!….

PERFECT LOVE : CASTS OUT FEAR.
Instant Example: 10 people suffer from CANCER and all ten are made well…only one returns to bring others to be cured. Why only one returns? Where are the other nine? Were they afraid to share their gratitude with others that could use a shot in the arm of hope?? Or were they glad to be healed and get back to the tread mill of life? The one that returned with the same sickness now cured must have endured much more than the other nine that went their way after they were cured.
Or was the kind of love involved that motivated one of ten that had so much gratitude that this person wanted to reach others to be cured.
And in doing so: Perfect love casted out the fear against remaining quiet about their cure to tell others.
Or maybe the other nine were afraid of giving up time in their busy schedule to help others ?
Or perhaps their reverence toward the person who spearheaded this break through was lacking and they were narcissistic?
In any case we make excuses entertaining negative feelings about being judged that get in the way of embracing a perfect love. We wait for some one else to think of the idea first.
It is only when we stop being affraid of the unknown and not worry about how our contribution will turn out that we begin to shine. To share as best we can reguardless what other's think.
What is POPULAR is not always right. And WHAT IS RIGHT is not always POPULAR.
Perfect Love casts out fear.

I am the exact same way. I both enjoy and hate making videos, lol. I also can't do scripts. It feels fake and not genuine.
if it makes you feel better Fran, I'ev been a failure for 40 years in computing and 30 in electronics. But I wont quit. Neither should you. And I find you anything but a failure.

Hey this silly country has had presidents that should NEVER see a microphone, be kind to yourself.
Do not think about talking. Think about your subject. I have a story about baseball.
Ted William and Micky Mantle were talking about the mechanics of hitting a baseball. Micky was a natural hitter, and never though about the mechanics of hitting a baseball. Where Ted was a technical hitter. Micky started thinking about hitting the baseball. Micky went into an 8 week slump.
My point is do not think about yourself, instead think about electronics. Being self-conscience will make you fail. If you think about it most things we do. we do not think about at all. Walking, running, eating, etc. are done without thinking.
Think about electronic, and talk without thinking about talking.
