Part two of my teardown of the donated Saturn V LVDC logic page assembly board. As with part one there are many more surprises as I delve deeper into this priceless piece of space history.

The lurch forward from the early 60’s to this tech is amazing. So much smaller and more advanced. Those NASA guys back then must have been pretty dang clever. Or it was reverse engineered from Roswell. Either way.
Very interesting. I was thinking the connections may have been crimped rather than soldered.
Watching in 2019. Again!
Banana for Scale!
This is fascinating. I wonder if these had any kind of radiation shielding, so that you could have done x-rays on these chips before opening them. I wonder if the red silicon contained any material to act as rad shielding. I’d try to get an analysis on the potting material. This is an old video though so I’ll have to watch through the series to see how this ends up! Love this stuff!
they are magnetic and about 1/64 th squared…..might they be to jump electrons under quantum theory, the Leeds look like poured magnesium particles ,,, i use to work on a black sites make neat things so i think way outside the box, shit i can't see the box LOL.. for the record the gov had cell phones in the late 1950's that should concluded my perspectives. remember anything that can make it through van allens belt would have to resist high radiation and that would melt solider and silicone. But it would not melt clay but rather harden it encasing the connections ceramic that can reflect radiation EDIT is see the rubbery underside
Is there someway you could turn on the auto-caption option for these videos? I rely heavily on captions whether auto or scripted. I have severe hearing loss, and miss what you are saying most of the time. By the way, I used to launch model rockets back when the moon landings happened. I earned an aerospace engineering degree a few years after that.
Are these Like early TTL chips. Just an array of transistors to form some kind of logic? That’s really amazing they got this to work in the 60s
You destroyed the components on that rare board? What you do for science…
Eeek, Sacrilege!
You talk to your cat the same way I talk to my dog.
You really are a cool chick.
