This is my prototype for my universal 4-bit Nixie display driver in its first two parts, showing the clock and buffer, BCD up/down counter, 4 bit bus, 0-9 counting bus, the high voltage transistor switching stages, the high voltage DC supply, and Nixie displays. All this just drives one digit. I will get it all together and off the breadboards into one condensed automatic unit this week. Enjoy!

nice
love it.
Where did you happen to find those nixie tubes?
Fun project! Looking forward to seeing the final form. Nixies are nifty for sure. Somewhere in the pile, I have a few nixies stashed, along with some of the digitron green 7-segment display tubes with the 200V supply. One of these days I'm going to incorporate vintage displays into a patching setup for the aging stereo rig. I figure it would be nice to have visual indicators that are period-correct. Vacuum tube gear with LED indicators just seems so blasted wrong to me!
