Ebay is a literal radioactive stockpile of 20th Century radium encrusted things. In this video I talk about some of them. Enjoy! (And exercise caution)

The story of radioactive apartments is scary AF 😮 They must have known it was dodgy when they did that. Or stripped it out afterwards when they did know.
At the very minimum, there should be government regulations requiring sellers of vintage goods to disclose whether it contains radium (i.e. radioactive) or not. A consumer has a right to know this information.
Do your research it's not nearly as bad as they make it seem
Oh!! No !! Turn off your radio.
scary to think about that radium wrist watch i wore every day for 28 years
If I have an old general electric wall clock without glowing could this still be radioactive?
Careful, you'll raise the price. It's actually hard to find anything radioactive.
so einen schwachsinn zu verzapfen.
Good point. Thanks for the heads-up, Fran. Caveat Emptor.
you are one hot lady, i want my wife to look and be like you
Hi Fran! Yes, I have uranium glass and other things… but I did toss out my antique radium dial clocks. They clicked from across the room on my counter. Yeah, I don't need that in my house.
Radium decays into radon. So although it's certainly safer not to open the case, would you say it's true that inside a home the amount of radon released by a watch or clock is dangerous? I did read a study which concluded that even a small watch, in a ventilated room, will put that space many times over the UK action level of radon.
That was really illuminating. Love your insightful videos.
Several years ago, I bought a wartime German message center clock from an eBay seller in Ukraine. When the clock reached US Customs in New York, it was too “hot” to enter and sent back to Ukraine. Fortunately, the Ukrainian eBay seller is a good and trusted person, and issued me a full refund. . . . Several years later, I bought the same model Ww2 German clock, from sellers in UK, and France. Both were delivered to me. . . All my potentially “hot” clocks are in a wood cabinet in an unused bedroom.
i wonder if you could add strontium aluminate or something to get it to glow again
