Looks like a guitar strobe tuner on the bench.
You are and have been an engineer… definitely! Dabble in science and are a wonderful person too!
Congrats on the IEEE , btw that's a really nice transformer in the upper right looks like a 4 or 6 amp guy
I know what you mean about being trapped and your mind not being able to clear so that you can concentrate on things. Due to my medical problems I am in the group that the UK Government calls โAt Extreme Clinical Riskโ of getting Covid and the extreme damage it could cause to my health so, other than for hospital appointments (4) I have not left the house since 15 February 2020. At least the weather is now improving so I can sit in the garden. People do not seem to realise the psychological impact this horrid disease has had and continues to have on peopleโs lives. I sincerely hope that things improve for you soon Fran. Take care.
I'm an engineer with over 20 years of experience and I enjoy your channel. You're doing good work.
love the frants!
That laptop looks like it would be capable of running OBS or an equivalent, And then you can either bring in with HDMI USB capture cards there's some really nice cheap ones if you don't mind about some of the functions like 30 FPS downconverted 4K I've been having really good success with them And they're only like $15. Can also use WebCams if you're able to get your hands on any. Personally I've been doing live streaming using the NDI protocol and capable cameras unfortunately the cheapest is $400, but it makes for a darn simple set up keeping everything on the Network no bulky HDMI cables or HDCP.
If you're using a good audio interface latency should be fairly low and possibly adjustable I did some work with persona stuff and supposedly you could loop through Live effects very low latency but that depended on the computer, I was using a Mac with their mixers and didn't try the low latency loop through but it was pretty low latency on the return path and sand path to send video from a laptop with audio over FireWire In Sync.
LOL yes that describes how exactly I'm dealing with content coming in and not editing it, I think that is going to be a new term.
Happy one year of isolation! There's a lot of people here with you, isolated, in the same situation.
congratulations!!
You must have heard me screeching, "Show us the guitar" all through the video….SGs have a spectral profile closest to a human voice…but single-coils with a wah FTW.
Wonderfully, the IEEE does recognize working engineers, who have no formal EE training and are largely self-taught. If you make contributions to the field, and they notice it, that recognition means a lot.. Congratulation from an (old) IEEE Life Member (and Fran fan).
So the next IEEE data transfer will be Franwire? Nice hat!
poop out those videos
the rodan scriptura is so cool i have walked there
You must have Carpal tunnel in your hand from editting
"poopin out the videos" I laughed my ass off LMAO. I feel just like Fran tho. Cant help but watch Franlabs.
