Yet another sci-nonfi vlog in my usual stammering off-the-cuff style. In this vlog I show an artifact in my collection that was flown to the surface of the moon and returned... For real! Thanks for watching!

How did I ever miss the Soviet materials-return missions. Amazing!

Did you ever find out how many of those presentations were made? I have one and have been trying off and on to find out more about the provenance of the piece. Paul Hartunian said he bought the larger piece from which the fragments were taken at an auction. However, he ignored my emails asking what auction it was. If I knew I could find details of the original Lot – which may say more about the piece. Any ideas?

It is an amazing collectible. This could be one way of financing space programs. You put a space craft into a Blendtec blender and sell tiny pieces for, say, $10 a gram. Luna 24 was 4800kg according to Wiki, so that could bring a nice little discount on the entire program.

You're the only person I've heard of who also has a fragment of TPS of Luna24!
I bought mine through Lovaura when I lived in the UK – identical packaging and the very same letter of 'provenance'.

You produce some really great videos! Our interests are very similar. My only real claim to fame as far as the space program is that I met both
Alan B. Shepard (1991) and Eugene Krantz in (1995). They actually listened to me speak to them for 30 seconds or less. 🙂 I still can't believe it. These people are my rock stars. Keep sending up the great videos. Greetings from Apache Junction, Arizona.
