Another 16mm from my collection - this one very much of the time with some pretty cool demonstrations of basic forces, and a look into life in the US in 1961. Classic cars, carnivals, and godless Rock 'n Roll on the beach! As always I transferred this reel with my own Telecine and color corrected to taste. Enjoy!

Cute
It all seems so simple.
Frame rate conversion 24 fps → 30 fps is quite destructive.
You'd better always keep the original frame rate when possible.
My only complaint is all that talk about machines multiplying forces without mentioning that you trade off distance. Otherwise it seems like magic.
That's a big difference in color correction. Very nicely done indeed.
I found math-free presentations of Newtonian physics like this film in my grade school years totally confusing until I had taken calculus and basic vector math, then, wham – it all made sense.
My favorite fact about force is that if the movement is not in the direction of the force vector then you do no work. But some people still believe they did.
Fran, you are the BEST! Happy New Year! We are looking forward to everything you bring to us over the coming year. When I saw the clip of the kids playing tug of war, all I could think about was how most likely none of them were wearing sunscreen.🌞
The old style educational films are still timely and useful!
Thanks.

Yes cyan did take a powder but even now blue seems to be difficult to keep around as colour fast film and non-digital media has that problem but the information conveyed still is useful . Fran happy new year to you and yes your archives rock! Stay with us ,please as your voice and presentation truly is why the Internet has value and I would feel such a sense of loss if you were to call it a day just yet-Stay true and keep on keeping on! Fran you rock!!!
That's all well and good for the Boomers, but what have forces ever done for us, lately?
