Hi All
I think that in 100 years the โrecordsโ will all be dissolved from chemical decompression, the internet will still be around and it will contain our history… I donโt think that in 400 years we will have no idea what happened in 2020 I think we will know more then we do about 2020 in 2400 then we do about 1620 in 2020. Lol I think computers that come out today which have billions of tiny transistors will be so much cooler then a ibm computer from the 70โs… I think the microchip shows our current capability.
Iโm playing video games listening to this awesome podcast of sorts, thanks Fran! Btw I tweeted you a picture of your top videos yesterday I hope you saw it๐
Awsome
Frans your a hoot !๐ฅฐ
Loved the smell of old Xcelite screwdriver and nutdriver handles! They really stank of butyric acid as they aged!
yep I watched the Full 2Hr.11Min's..
For me, the rants are more popular because more people can understand what you're saying. Great rants, truly good ones. Think Carlin, early Dennis Miller, all come from a certain intellectual angle. There are garbage rants and there are little works of art. This video resonated with me on a great many levels, I also laughed. I feel like "rant" is often used to describe moments of truth shared between disparate strangers. Two hours is a long time. Well done.
I assume the gooey plastics problem accounts for the problem many old laser printers have over time. The solenoids have a small dampening pad that cushions the movable arm when it snaps closed. When the foam pads start getting tacky, the solenoid takes a fraction of a second to long to open, and you get paper jams. I have had to tear apart a number of printers to replace the pads.
Love your videos. Surplus sales of Nebraska has a three pin power Connector (CNE) 160-11N That may fit your fender. They are kind of expensive but may work a treat.
The worst electric โexperienceโ I ever had couldโve been lethal, I was working an old ham radio transmitter, a Collins 32S-1. I forgot to unplug the external power supply and touched the plate electrode of one of the 6146A output tubes. ~800V or so. Dropped me to my knees. I developed a new process after that!
I work at a NASA calibration lab. We had a lot of โoverstockโ surplus electronics, old vacuum tubes, nixies, transistors, etc that sent to โredistributionโ or what the USAF called DRMO. What a shame. I was able to get a handful of old germanium transistors though that were rejected and throw in the trash. I tested them and I found them good. I built 2 fuzz pedals based on the Fuzz Face schematic. Itโs been a while, but I โmatchedโ 2 pairs and soldered them in. Do they work? Yes! Do they sound โvintageโ? Who knows lol.
I am glad your doing ok
Have you looked at things like the Neutrik NC-LNE MP Chassis Mount and compatible connector for your amp power rewire? Mains power connectors on an XLR size connector.
