The second version of my Smartphone Bike-Cam mount definitely shows the frame rate issues with using a phone for sport video. Hold onto your butts and watch as I decimate traffic and outrun cars in my ride through mid-town Philly on my Jamis Allegro Comp bicycle. Do not attempt at home, I am a professional.

You should get a GoPro hero 4 camera, they can shoot video in up to 4k resolutions and up to 120fps in certain lower HD resolutions 720/960p.

Fran, you should have recorded an audio track of you singing and playing Gene Autry's "Back In The Saddle Again" for this video!

I can really recommend an "innovv C1" (or C2).
That's at least the cheapest way to get hold of a compact well housed camera.
And you get all the fun you can have from M12 interchangeable lenses.

This is totally E.T. in the basket perspective.

I have had some experience with the wavy video effect. The image element on some cameras seem to have a pixel buffer for each pixel and there seems to be a common clock pulse to latch the data into all pixels at the same time. Other cameras seems to scan the pixels, reading the data for each pixel one by one in realtime. The obvious problem with this method is the time between scanning the first pixel in the upper part of the frame and the last means any motion in the camera will cause the image to shift around before the entire frame is scanned. This results in parts of the image to be stretched or compressed vertically in the same frame.
This also means that any efforts to absorb road vibrations will not entirely remove this wavy effect.

Way smoother this time. I have the same jello-cam problems with my GoPro.
