Thanks for tips re teflon wire, have generated loud expletives trying to strip teflon coated wire with normal wire strippers. Will see if those real beastie type strippers are available here in UK. Really enjoy your videos. As someone who suffers from depression and anxiety attacks I really feel for you when you feel vulnerable in your videos. You're amazing, love you to bits.

Obviously the wire is similar to Wire Wrap type, although stranded. But ages ago I was dealing with actual wire wrap application that had those pesky sharp corner square posts. Also, it had a temperature requirement down to -55 degrees C (-67 degrees F). Clearly called for teflon for the temperature, but NOT teflon for the cutting effect of those sharp corners. What to do?
We ended up using teflon insulation and wrapping it with a Kapton film overlay. Or actually some vendor provided that. Not easy to peel, but with proper tool it could be done.
I wonder if this special silver teflon wire would hold up in a marine environment. Recommended wire is
Marine Grade Tinned Wire, but silver teflon wire sounds better. Got some homework to do now…..
I struggle to 'find' wire to use – I hope you're going to use those cut pieces somewhere & not just 'toss' them.

Very useful information, not too long ago, I was fitting a wood burning stove into an opening, I wanted lights above it to see to cook, LEDs were ruled out because of the heat from the fire, in the end, I chose two capsule halogen bulbs 12 volt with ceramic bulb holders, these I mounted on an hollow Aluminium channel, I used ceramic connector blocks and Teflon military grade wire, which was stranded and well overrated for the job in thickness, I seem to think it was silver plated copper strands in it. I used a standard halogen power supply but had to ditch this in favour of an old computer PSU. The problem with the transformer was it played havoc with my radio, especially when I was listening to AM bands.
