What is it? What does it do? I have no idea - lets open it up and see.

Cool! I bet it could be used for some sort of automated process controller. Maybe a way to expose a photographic enlargement or something that was designed to be “idiot-proof”
Okay, that was definitely not my guess. I was betting on a bucking transformer, having just built one recently. Oh well!
One thing's for sure. The thing is spongeworthy.
Many have suggested a darkroom timer. A darkroom timer that is not easily settable would be worthless. This thing is almost certainly just to turn some sort of lighting on and off and on and off to get attention, probably for light or sign at a place of business.
I was thinking it was going to be a some sort of 1-1 transformer for isolating the actual output from the input for some reason.
Hitchcock level suspense video 😂
Doc Brown asked me to tell you not to plug in the FluxTimer it might cause time to stop for 9 seconds…. I wonder if it was for photography? for a timed exposure? or maybe someone had really fast growing plants that only need 9 seconds of light. 🙂
Load 🤣
I'm really curious as to what they were using a 9 second timer for.
Put a variable resistor on that bad boy 😉
Put a pot. In it
this would be cool mod…. with a multi turn pot with an a counting dial
Wire nut for the ground or earth = dangerous.
