16mm film from my collection about careers - and let's be specific - careers for Professional Men! Are you up to the standards? First, are you a Man? Well, congratulations - you're half way to a successful career! Now, just remember to be a Professional Man and you are a guaranteed success. As usual I transferred this reel with my own Telecine and made color corrections to taste. Enjoy!

Thr opening shots remind me of the cover of YES Going For The One.
Copyright sucks. Most if not all of the people involved with making this documentary and its music are dead or will be soon. It's the bloodsuckers in Hollywood, combined with Senator "Disney" from Louisiana who pushed the copyright laws to their ridiculous present extremes. All this, so Disney does not lose control over Mickey Mouse. Pathetic.
Out of curiosity (may not be worth it), would copyright laws allow the following?
Sample the voice using AI.
Remove the sound track.
Reproduce the narration using the transcript.
Overdub the new narration.
Create new generic background music or have AI create such music in the same syle.
Render and create anew.
Acknowlege that you have done all this.
Just a thought.
Also, does YouTube recognize Fair Use at all??? The music is just clippings of full composition or recordings and so fair use applies. Do you think even the original creators of these films obtained a license?
Are you the only one who is so harassed by copyright trolls? I see none of these difficulties on other YouTube Channels. Although, those channels are owned by people who are probably a lot richer than you. Something stinks here…
Hi Fran. With your ongoing struggles with music copyright, are you now preemptively deleting any music, or are you still attempting to upload the full, original soundtrack? Is there any chance that a Creative Commons license would help solve this issue? Thank you for all your work with these films.
Well, all the copy write deletions spoiled the video.
how 'bout the clothing salesman at your favourite store? LOL
I totally agree with others, you did an excellent Jon of color correction Fran, you really got the hang of it. It's a shame you still have to remove so much original sound.
Excellent colour correction on this. I think we're conditioned to needing background music. It took a few minutes to adapt, but it didn't make it unwatchable.
Ah…The Professional…. It was the 70's though. ๐
OMG, canned 52 year old music copyright… SMH
Pretty unwatchable wifh the audio cuts. Sorry Fran. ๐ I hope you have a public folder somewhere off of YouTube that these can be viewed and downloaded.
