A handy tip I leaned the hard way - and use quite often.

Great tip! I had this problem with logsplitter tires. My solution was to apply clear silicone with a caulk gun around the rim on both sides. That was enough to trap the air in just enough. But I like your solution better.
spray a bit of break cleaner in there and light it. the explosion will seal the tire on the rim then pump it up before it cools . works every time 🙂
It works! I had to do this on the tires on a heavy portable generator brought in by a customer to be repaired. We jacked up the generator, put the strap on and pumped up the tires. The customer thought I knew what I was doing. Thanks for making me look good Fran!
i always used a little carb cleaner or starter fluid and a lighter or preferably a match
Awesome!
Fran is the aunt is wish I had my whole life
Hi Fran, I use tire slime in these little utility wheels. I don't use it anywhere else though, but it helps prevent silly slow leaks in these kinds of tires.
useful quickie!
My first job was at a tire shop when I was 14, we used to do this with large truck tires. We would tie a rope around the tire and put a metal bar through the rope and then twist the bar to tighten the rope.
Thanks.Fran.Can do the same with riding lawnmower/tractor tires too.I learned the hard way by wrestling with two rear tires on my rider 2 years ago..
nice, just learned something new.
This is one of the simplest yet practical bits of advice ever. 😍
Oh you So need to Do More of These…
For extra fun, try spraying some starter fluid or carb cleaner in it and setting it ablaze. It blows the tire onto the rim and the heated air holds it there until you can get a few pumps of air in it.
It's also a great way to burn the hair off of your forearms and hella dangerous.
"Assholes!" 😂
