What a difference a day makes.... particularly when you have an army of people pushing to move the immovable object. It takes a community to make a difference. Thanks everyone, I am always grateful for your constant encouragement and support.

We are not your army. We are your friends. Try and relax with that idea. Have a glorious day, Fran.
So happy Google / somebody snapped and did the right thing for you. However you're right. The battle for every day people in that situation will probably not end anytime soon. It sucks.
Still, I have some hope for the future. Maybe people will get it and be better in general.
As one who tried to make my voice heard on the subject, I'm so glad this is the result. Sometimes it's easy to feel worthless in the scheme of things, but it's encouraging to see a concerted group effort can still make a difference.
I am happy things turned out. I agree with you that this wouldn't have been fixed and definitely not as fast if you weren't a popular influencer. This also reminded me that I may need to check what is said about me. I am changing industries, going to school to make the leap from trades person to engineer. In the trades they don't really care about anything past do you show up and do you work. I'm not even sure if my manager knows how to turn his computer on.
"So on behalf of the British government, and all those who live freely thanks to Alan's work I am very proud to say: we're sorry, you deserved so much better."
Darn right you have own Army, or in my case your own Air Force! Glad Google gave your search page a Bot lobotomy!
Soo true that the rest of us plebes do not have those (ardent) supporters to step up and yank those proverbial chains of the masters of the Internet domain. That said, glad you were able to get this issue resolved! (albeit, for the time being)
Huge love, Fran. I can't agree with you enough, this is so much bigger than just one person or one time. As someone with an engineering degree and a passion for doing engineering right, I do wonder if one of the source issues that is a lot of tech doesn't have professional practice and ethics training, nor security professionals involved in reviewing how all features could be abused. When I give talks about the future of cyber security, I controversially include algorithm abuse. From moderation being only via automated actions based on volumes of flagging by users, to recommendation systems that trust user reviews, the whole modern web is incredibly vulnerable to abuse
Very glad that it got sorted. To answer your question us ordinary folks turn to people like you and other youtubers if we have the same problem.

This kinda stuff is such a mess. I'm glad you have a loud enough voice to get things sorted for yourself, but it's definitely distressing that such a voice is needed. I wish I could say use Google's legally mandated (in the EU) search result removal process, but all that does is replace it with "some results have been removed upon request" and then people wonder what exactly was so bad you wanted it removed. There's no easy win here.
Stay strong, Fran. You deserve better. We all deserve better. I wish I could say it's going to get better, but all I can say is even if it doesn't we have each other, as a community.
Point is … who should, and can determine what is relevant and what not? I'd say the quick summary could and should be editet manually to be fair and mostly true. Like they did it now for your name in the end. But the automatic google search should be about lately frequent topics in connection with the searched person, even if they don't like it. Otherwise we get into deep censorship problems, like facebook when it automatically flagged and deleted an educational discussion about the american constitution as hate speech. I'd say in most cases google is already very well balanced at that point, I see your case as an untypical exception as far as my experience goes. I love how google handles that well, even for controversial topics and its amazing how they changed your quick summary to a way better information in such a short time!
I am so glad it worked out for you.
Hopefully the day is coming when 1. Nobody cares about labels and 2. It don't matter anyway
Once again, we can’t leave this kind of thing to the “electronic brotherhood” to decide. Real people need to monitor systems that deal with real people. I’m glad you got your problem “fixed”. No one should be singled out for the way that they want to live their life. Hang the lot of them….
I sent one of those complaints. I felt a little helpless, so I just started punching buttons. Glad it got fixed finally!
i've been buried/shadowbanned by twitter, youtube, and google due to opinions that are now coming to be accepted. my army of one clearly is not going to get me unburied. no one believed me when i was saying this type of stuff happens because i'm a nobody.
You are letting these evil companies off the hook and it will happen to millions of others.
Soooo happy that finally Google corrected the problem. You are a source of interesting info and good vibes and that is not easy to find here nowdays.
