I never really bought to collect because if u do u would have to buy 2 copies of each disc I purchased laserdiscs because I was in awe of the format to watch my favorite films my first player a pioneer cld-980 first disc Aliens box set un Dec 91

Yeah I have the Criterion cav and clv 1169l which is the European cut yes I also like the final cut better than directors but at the time it had the fingers ninja the eyes and had more blood to me and at that time more Blade Runner was better so didn't really care about the different endings really just hate when they cut out gore or blood in films, never thought to hook up my 1702 to my laserdisc player I guess to me just to small but it's perfect for your video its great to see another laserdisc fan

I read on the web that the Mitsubishi M-V7025 is a Pioneer CLD-D702. At least that's what the back looks like. I didn't really want to deal with the topic of laser discs until I read that many music Laserdiscs are not available on DVD. Because the disc is rot, I don't seem to have to spend much time with it.

It was a great pleasure to watch this video, thank you, my lady. 🙂 I have couple of Laser Discs, and I believe I will give some love to them now. 😀

You’ve got a great collection. Collecting and watching Laserdiscs is quite a different experience than dvds or blue-ray discs with their cheap looking packaging.

Fran was nice to see and hear you again i have a Laserdic player but it's one that came from a school auction so does not have all the bells and whistles but im working on getting another one since i do have about a hundred disks in awesome shape and never got to enjoy one when i was younger never saw them in our town ( Louisville Ky. ) but love all older stuff like Reel to Reel's old stereo equipment from the 60's. Thanks again.

Nize! But we do have the orig. Star Wars trilogy on DVD! Widescreen, theatrical cuts. (They are "postage stamped" like the laserdisc, but still slightly higher resolution.)

Fran! Somehow, by some miracle, YouTube decided to put you in my feed, and I am so glad! While this video is 3 years old, it’s very relative today – I am a HUGE LaserDisc collector. And your speaking style, your screen personality, was instantly relatable. Subscribed! Thank you for making such a wonderful video, I am looking forward to your others! (By the way, your taste in films and mine… well suffice it to say that we could be twins in that aspect LOL)

2001 a Space Odyssey directed by Stanley Kubrick story by Arthur C Clarke is the best Sci Fy movie of all time hands down . I love Blade Runner don't get me wrong. Just skip the BR sequel. KLUp

If you want to go full blown 80s home cinema you should get a sony or barco crt projector.

After publishing I realized that I was thinking of Futureworld – the Peter Fonda/ Blythe Danner sequel to Westworld for that CGI stuff. Also, the Apollo Command Module Simulator that I stood on at the Smithsonian is in the background of a shot in Futureworld! True Fact!
