The faculty at the University of Pennsylvania contacted me and said that they had to clear out an old research laboratory to make more room, and if I would be interested in taking the old stock of parts and equipment that was stored there. In this video I go there to take a look at what they have and make my decision. It turned out to be three rooms full of old stuff.... so, yes - of course I want it!

I still think about this video from time to time. I don't mean to be rude but I just don't understand why you didn't come and load it up instead of telling them how rare and valuable everything was.
Watching you find all those new old-stock IEE displays was such a delight: I only know what they even are because of your amazing channel. This lab sure called the right person!

Next time don't do a free tour first. Just come in with a truck. This stuff went up on ebay probably.
Obviously, she was not the only one they told that she can take out stuff. Others were faster. She should've brought a trolley (and a truck) on the first day. Or come again the morning of the next day.

What a terrible shame they cut your grass so to speak, those blokes did not know what that equipment is for but after hearing you describe it they decide to take it thinking its worth something. Best not to say too much but haul it away and then make a video. So sorry for your painful loss, I know how much it would hurt to come back to find everything picked over.
This is where I would just have a heart attack if I could get my hands on all this stuff. This reminds me of a store that used to be around where I live, I live in the Bay Area in Silicon Valley itself, which is the place that a lot of tech originated, there used to be a store in industrial Santa Clara called weird stuff, and it was just a huge warehouse full of stuff just like this, I’m not sure if it’s still there, but it’s definitely a cool place to find stuff like this.
