P sure Adblock plus is an ad free service. So this is worse for content providers and another dick move by Google who appear to be willfully ignorant of their business model. Wonder how long its going to be before my favourites list (which is mainly music content) is 'content deleted'.
I use ADBlock to block the ads
To learn who rules over you…simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize..
The way I understand it. Plus is actually already behind the standard Google front. The sign in is asked for really weird crap. It's still big brother love what you do Fran. 👍👍

Thanks Fran. Personally I would gladly pay $2 extra per month to Netflix if they would add youtube type videos like yours to their lineup, without the ads! They are in the perfect position to add many more customers to their customer base, and add more revenue to their portfolio. Greed fuels the fire of innovation, as well as the demise of a great idea!

Fran Blanche I think the way ahead is to do what some content producers are doing and front your videos on your own site, similar to the way EEVblog does, embedding your videos on the site. Encourage people to access them via your site, disable youtube comments and have comments on your site, Then if you need to switch your streaming service to some other platform (Vimeo etc) many of your viewers won't notice the difference. Take back control. People will still find you on Youtube, but you can encourage them in your content to bookmark your "Portal" and announce videos with an rss feed and/or via twitter.
I will watch you channel with or without adds. We already call it the youskip

I want do some 'stuff' with LED's.(yes, I said 'stuff'', sorry) Now I need some basic knowledge but unsure where to get reliable info. Basics like; Why you need a watchamacallit to reduce voltage and how do I calculate the correct resistance?

They don't ever change back. They do amend rules but I'm pretty sure it's all part of a long-term strategy.

I admire your desire not to monetize, but I must point out that you are a "guest" here. Perhaps an invited guest, but still a guest. It seems hard to ensure either side of the "high road" of proper behavior from guest and host in this situation.
I have grown up dodging ads like any American consumer; ignoring ads is second nature. Doesn't mean I like them– but I recognize they are a necessary evil. I can only assure you, it is the content that will prevail.
Ask for your money back… All the money you paid youtube to host your videos.. just ask them for the money back…
