Another 16mm film from my collection that has some 70's high tech in it! Pretty much nothing but pink left in this print, and as usual I transferred this reel with my own Telecine and corrected as best I could. Enjoy!

An additional note, the brain takes 0.5 sec to process the information from the eye, if the eye just glances the brain may use an image of the same scene from memory to save energy.
๐ฅโ๏ธ๐ฆ Dinosaur ๐Training!
A lot of people need to view this…I see so many idiots out there that look at everything except the road…especially at their electronic gadgets.
Still relevant today with maybe the exception of rear view mirrors being much better than they were forty years ago. Current driver training emphasises the use of mirrors over head checks, but if you found yourself in a vintage car or one with bad mirrors it's still an important skill. I drove a ute with flat side mirrors for a lot of years, and I mostly dealt with that by being aware of any vehicle that were moving up into my blind spot.
Looks like there were far fewer cars on the road back then as well. Either that or it's a Sunday morning…
That eye movement tracker was a heck of a contraption
Now the eye keeps looking at the phone ๐
I wonder if they did this same experiment today with over double the amount of cars on the road and everyone having their "mind micro-controller" (phone) attached to the main field of view, beeping every few seconds, and "demanding" a response from the driver.
Hi Fran. If you ever need a sound engineer (totally free, no charge) for removing copyrighted music while maintaining vocals, hit me up. ๐ I use SpectraLayers and it uses AI to differentiate between vocals and other things. Wouldn't mind processing audio for you.
Interesting to me because I lost some of my right-side peripheral vision, and have since stopped driving, after being in a few fender benders. I miss the freedom.
Anyone remember the Smith system?
I love how non ADHD inducing these informational films were back then. They really let the information sink in before they move on and do their best to convey the complexity. There's a video here on Youtube about car differentials and it was the first time I understood it completely. It's from the 1930s!!!
Lovely! Sheโs doing that โIโm pretending to driveโ thing, moving the steering wheel from side to side. I bet sheโd been watching Starsky and Hutch. And oh my darling, your hand on top of the wheel? Presumably, the AAA Foundation didnโt do the filming.
I'm pretty sure I saw this film in high school when I was learning to drive. It was getting close to two decades old by then.
They drive with their eyes open? That's too scary, I just keep mine shut. ๐
Thanks for reminding me what I can't drive anymore ๐ค. Another great restoration. ๐
