Until YouTube takes this seriously, it's up to us all to whack the bots as they come. Maybe someday YouTube will care about this too.

I don't think that it's part of t***ms business model to keep imposter around. But the thing with a privacy oriented chat platform is that there will be abuse. And it's whack-a-mole for them too. What I'm worried about is that all these bots and extremist nutcases are going to bring some new legislation, limiting privacy even further, becuase that's what "law enforcement" wants: push button arrests are much easier than actually doing their job. I've been on t****m almost since it was new and there's quite a few communities on there that aren't abusive. But always dragging it as "the platform for scammers" is doing it a huge diservice IMHO. The problem is bots, not what chat platform they use. They could just as simple provide a phone number or website link.
Thank You, never realized how to report these scammers. (-:
Scams represent financial natural selection, we shouldn't get too upset about them. Having said that, good of you to be so kind towards your more (cough) "Mid Western" viewers by taking the time to explain this.
Și, tu tu tu 👍🙏💖🐼
I report those on all of the channels I watch – I've done so for years.
You're the first channel to propose something to do against the bots.
Btw, I randomly discovered your channel via the Josh Homme Amp video, and I am so glad I did.
Fran, tu as un nouveau fan en France !
Those bots are a real pain in the @$$! I get them sometimes and no matter what I try to do, they keep on popping up! Unfortunately, until YouTube gets their act together and stops concentrating so much on Copywrights lol, there's not much to be done about it for now!
I do this on many of the channels I watch on a regular basis. I try to report any that I see! Love your videos 👍👍👍
I have been asked "many" times but not on the Franlab channel. One channel asked repeatedly until I responded. Once I tried it led to a fake telegram site (actually a paid gaming site in reality, and you CANNOT unsubscribe once you click so I found). I didn't know there's a few using the same name.
There is no business model on the telegram side behind all that.. They get nothing if a user creates a new account… The only business in here is from cell phone providers whcih get paid for single-use numbers to recieve a SMS.
And as a telegram user and scamhunter, i can tell you, that most of those accounts get deleted relatively fast (1hr~2days, depending on how many telegram users report an account).
So .. mh sadly, the main responsibility still falls on youtube ….
It's been a plague for quite a long time now. I've been downvoting and reporting as spam the individual comments. Didn't realize you could also flag the accounts themselves, thanks for that tip!
If you click the three little dots to the right of the comment you can report the comment as misinformation.
Whenever I spot the replying to me I tend to do that. LTT has a great video on the subject.
I really wouldn't prefer to report them for impersonation but.
Have been reporting spambots in this very fashion for quite some time now and have even left detailed instructions in your comments for others to do the same
Thank you Fran for giving these instructions to a wider audience
People were getting wise to the Nigerian Princess scam so
Those scamsters decided to try another angle.
