there's been people declared dead by doctors that fooled them. I was told by a surgeon that lived in the city I was a police officer in it happens more often than you think.
Now you have to watch Flatliners (1990)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At a certain point, the mind leaves the body and you are dead. I think that we overcomplicate things sometimes.
"Dead-ish." I love it.
I think it's the difference between, "currently not functional," and, "beyond the available skills and technology to get it working again." The first one is pretty straight forward, but the second one is a constantly moving goalpost. Eventually it may just be a matter of whether or not there's a decent record of a person's mind state, preferably fairly recent, at least for humans.
I always listen through the end of the episode so I can jam out to the ending theme song. The best is when I air guitar to the solo. It's a sight to behold I tell you.
But I'm not quite dead yet… think I'll go for a walk
OMG just bury me in the PET CEMETARY I don't do unnecessary drugs LOL. Actually, I don't know which is more horrifying the revival cell story or PET CEMETARY…
This crossed my news feed as well. Wondered why people weren't making a bigger deal about it. Could save a lot of lives waiting on organ transport. Loved the theramin effect at the end!
Alive! It's alive! IT'S ALIVE!
To quote Monty python, it means, "is no more", "has ceased to be", "bereft of life, it rests in peace".
The SO saw this article and ran up to me to emphasize her LW which demand that we wait 7 days before any post mortem procedures.
I think the bigger question is, "What does alive mean?" Lots of implications here, I won't even begin to go into them.
The beginning of Night of the Living Dead.
