Another film from my archive that is typical of the kinds of films that were shown in schools. Lots of great nostalgic shots of life in the late 50's. As always I transferred this film with my own Telecine. Enjoy!

Careful Fran, someone will have copyrighted the wheel…!😉
Gears ain't wheels
Hey Fran, remember the Slide Shows, where the narrations was on a 33 1/3 record, and there was a tone to let the teacher know to advance the slide forward, except the Teacher would ALWAYS screw up and get one or two slides behind the narration record?
lol, these movies they used to show us in school. The first movie I was shown in school was "Lunchroom Manners" with Mr. Bungle
I was so happy when I found a gyroscope for my son last year for Christmas, he really got a kick out of the centrifugal force. Timeless gift that intrigued him in a non smart phone manner.
The series of physics demonstrations by Julius Sumner Miller are on YouTube
" I'm gonna be a wheel someday, I'm gonna be somebody/ I'm gonna be a wheel someday, and then I won't want you…." In truth I would call the wheel a discovery, an extension of math, geometric and gravitational/frictional principles, and properties of physics and the univese; and not necessarily an invention. As the technology of wheels was improved, then you could call them inventions.
I'm much smarter for having seen this video.

Fran, you got to check out "Eyes On Cinema: EOC."
I love wheels, having managed to hire a naked chinese rickshaw driver for my evening star and planet spotting routine. He always gets a bit too eager and raises from the saddle to pedal very fast, I have figured out why he is doing this despite communication problems, it is simply because, whenever he speeds up, I always shout 'Faster, Faster Pussycat, I can see Uranus'.
Sliding apart a clamp-on skate and hammering it flat to the underside of a board is how I made my first skateboard in the early 70's.
That's all fine and good for the Eisenhower era, but what have wheels done for us lately?
Time to roll film (pun intended)
