Like all… They only protect their profits…. Tic toc model of evil has effects that influence them all! YouTube really is no better then tictoc in that respect….

About having your videos on other platforms: It's not just about the views, it's about having your videos mirrored from Youtube so that people can see WHY a video might have been taken down for some reason. It gives people somewhere to point to the video if they are defending your taken down video. And if your entire channel goes down you have a place and a (smaller) audience to upload an explaination videos etc. For 5 minutes work it's a complete no-brainer. I've built up 70k subs on Odysee. The other platforms like Utreon and Rumble and Bitchute do indeed get hardly any views. Please take 5 minutes to sync your channel to Odysee, there is zero downside.

Today: YouTube deletes channels by bot. Tomorrow: A.I. deletes us.

You probably know what Cory Doctorow calls the process of platforms getting worse as the owner tries to extract more from the creators and the consumers: enshittifcation.

It's all about money. Legacy channels don't get enough traffic for advertisers to be interested in advertising on them. Combining legacy channels with active (main?) channels is all about increasing hits so that they can put more advertising and raise revenue. Not enough hits, get rid of them – no revenue. Loyalty – a mythical being usurped by money every time.

I had my original YouTube account from the early days deleted with maybe a hundred videos of my drumming, old band performances, Airgun shooting, and rat hunting. It was the rat hunting that did me in. Funny thing there are hundreds of other “pesting” videos on YouTube. They are selective in their outrage.

Glad to hear Adrian got his old channel back, I like his channels on computers. There should be a law to protect YouTube user's content from being taken down without a warning or needlessly, unless your breaking a criminal law. YouTube is a very good thing, but if Youtube can take down or sensor what you put up. Then you are taking risks put up videos and losing them, unless your wise enough to have back up. Sad YouTube does not care about you.

Wow. Had no idea there was so much crap to have to put up with in order to have content on YouTube.

It's why I always download videos I want to keep for some reason. They can disappear from YouTube at any time. And just a note, I noticed the Amiga guide book on the stand behind you. I had a 500 for quite a while and liked it pretty well. Never made the leap to the more sophisticated models though.

Adrian’s big issue was the automation thought the /// at the end of the channel name was intended to deceive, and didn’t understand that /// was the Apple III stylized Roman numeral.

That's amazing. YouTube is hostile towards the people that make it work, yet I would bet that it will take an act of Congress to allow anyone else to catch to them. Cody's Lab lost all ad revenue a long time ago. Cody's Lab! You think they would care about something like that.
