I saw " Oppenheimer" at a local retro theatre ( The Kentucky Theater….a fully restored theater built in 1922).
They did an excellent job as far as sound and projection go, but, yeah, a intermission would be great for long movies.
I think the local paper is no longer delivered, but is available in grocery and convenience stores.
Worth coming back to the recorded one for the news and comments.

Nolan did a disservice to his actors by using sound to prod an emotional response. I felt I was in a Jaws movie. I thought the film was horrible just because of the sound.

Governments record all meta data both encrypted and not including all phone calls, messages and emails, they are all recorded digitally, we are not free, and we could be judged at any moment for our past actions. Back in the days of the Apollo moon landings we believed, or most of did, in a higher power that loved us and would be there if things went wrong. Now we believe in statistics and technology to prove truth, soon our common sense will be gone.
You've sold me on the idea of the audio compressor. I was watching Interstellar last night, turning up my sound system to hear mumbling McConaughey, who is suddenly and jarringly replaced by extremely loud effects that even scare the bejesus out of the cats. Looking for a compressor!

Way back, I had a shirt from JPL that had their logo and NASA's logo, and on the sleeve was "As a matter of fact, I AM a rocket scientist." I loved that shirt.

Our local newspaper just stopped home delivery. I cannot get used to the app to read it online and I've worked the daily crossword for decades and now it's gone unless I print it out. OMG!
