The dystopian world of Wall-E (aided by AI, robots etc) is just around the corner. Witness a hotel; that can't cope with a request to deliver a newspaper to a room. However, people will always need plumbers.
Unemployment will become the norm. A very few super rich, and masses of idle destitute.
Ok. If your point is, that we should be afraid to lose our jobs, then so should the companys. Because if many people lose their jobs, they will have no money to buy their products. Am I wrong ?
I'm a handyman, and there are many things I do that a bot can't do at all, let alone do better. Or, let's see a bot climb a tree and do a high-end pruning job, or a large removal and assess ALL the risks and strategies needed to safely do the job.
Of course this is a large group of people. It's presence suggests they lag behind the development and are willing to promote paranoia to stop the public from accessing or training the tech.
This is not right ! Fran would never wear a hat like that!

We'll have to make sure we tax the AI machines. And also establish a living wage for the unemployed that those AI machines have put out of a job.
There is a growing trend to treat people bad in companies and by politicians. It seems that they know exactly that soon the majority of their citizens become useless and thus worthless eaters. Yes Fran, I believe you hit the nail again.

Greed and Laziness. No matter what. Even at the expense of their own self interest. WalMart, DoorDash,Air BnB and, Ofcourse, Amazon. All simple examples of how people will use the very thing that will put them out of work. My wifes a Psychologist and even she's taking stock that she may be out of business because some Tech Asshole will create an AI Therapist and charge a fraction of the price and the whole greedy world will come running.
As soon as they put an AI in charge of those Atlas robots…

It's very simple. Money will cease to exist. Capitalism will cease to exist. Everything will change. Jobs will be irrelevant. They won't be a thing anymore. This doesn't mean people are not going to work on things.
How many bots does it take to replace 87k IRS workers whose goal was never clearly stated (except to say that they should not be averse to carrying a gun.)
