I was doing the same thing in the same area at the same time with the rocket catalog. To bad I didn't know you then.

I so remember Splinter of the Mind's Eye! I remembered it while seeing the Dagobah scenes when Empire came out: I was probably disappointed that they hadn't made it into a movie.

I have many boxes of Star Wars Stuff… LOL!
I've new to your channel, it was your Saturn V F-1 engine video that got me here. Anyway, I found models in my box I've forgotten about and that included Two X-Wing fighter models from 1977 and 1983. I'm building the 83 version right now LOL!! I'm keeping the 77 in the box, which I had built a model back in 1978, the same type.

I had that Star Wars book too. And those bubble gum trading cards – I threw away the gum. Back then, we didn't have internet, we got anything we could.

Star Wars was my first movie. I just got the comics. Leia was my first action figure.
    R2 rocket toy model???? 😆
I preferred Dr Who. Tom Baker was my timelord as a boy. Plus Blake's 7. The Liberator and Scorpio space ships, and the black Federation troopers looked cool.

I so love the Hildebrant poster….

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars djtomoy says:

I’d rather look at that poster than watch any of the movies

Wow, Fran, that is a beautiful collection. I've seen of lot of the original action figures out there, but not many of those posters / handouts / booklets / flyers…..which seem to get lost in time.

I have a lot of the same stuff, we must be the same age…it was the summer after sixth grade for me. Best feeling ever watching that movie for the first time. And the second time.

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Almonzo Wilder says:

I think we must be the exact same age. I had all the same stuff but my dad made sure to throw it all away the moment my head was turned. I remember thinking the same thing about the putative tie-fighter with the B-class engine going off inside of it. I witness the x-wing which did okay, but I never saw a tie-fighter launch. I bought a whole rocket set for my nephews last summer and I think they were very impressed. But I was ultimately upstaged by their remote-controlled drone with video camera and monitor. It was fun watching you show us your stuff.
