I have a "Manpower Safety Award" which included a $25 gift certificate at a grocery store where I bought some Strawberry Quick and other stuff so I too have metaled.
From first grade to graduating high school we never touched a transistor, op amp or vacuum tube "in school". Engineering students and profs should have to serve time teaching some fun making electronic stuff classes in elementary school. I made an Apple ][ in Verilog in a Xilinx Artix-7 FPGA. FPGAs are fun.
