I have watched Fran videos for a long while now, but I never saw any DSKY videos of hers until recently. This is my favorite.

Thank you for sharing what an exponentially smart, wonderfully neat, beautiful person you truly are, to those of us that have no idea these people, such as yourself, actually do exist, but do not have the opportunity to engage.

Your two calculators on the table! They are a Casio and a TI. Why no HP calculators? They were used as backup computers for the Space Shuttle.

That's one small step for a Fran, but a giant leap for Frankind XD

I feel like screen printing t shirts can be left in the past… too much waste of water, unnecessary waste and chemicals… much easier and you can get more complicated designs with newer process. In my opinion๐Ÿค

Delivering a human to the moon is extremely risky business. I've known many test pilots from back in the 60s and 70s, some were from the Navy and very few were selected for the Space program. I worked with weapons communications with a close knit relationship with the CIA, that said and it be known that most programs with an "Intelligence" rating are indeed owned by the Navy. I can tell you that test pilots are a special breed of human. I always believed they were CRAZY. I would never consider placing myself on a mobile launch system of any variety, Ive seen many accidents and failures; some with fatalities. You'd almost have to be crazy or very brave or both. I applaud your diligence, you are indeed unique. I would consider you as an inspiration, I could imagine you as a teacher. Although my children are well grown, some close to 50 now, never stop what you are doing if you can help it, there is much to learn and many of us no matter the age are still thirsty … Great Job !

Wow, I didnโ€™t expect to watch this when I just found out what a DSKY is and have no interest in silkscreening. I was kept interested the entire time. Despite knowing Iโ€™d never recreate this. Great video, great end result!

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Eric Krauss says:

So, when are you going to pick this project back up and finish the historically correct replica DSKY? Who cares that another person built a working EL? His build uses modern ICโ€™s. Yours will be authentic.

It's probably easier to list the things you can't do than the things you can!

This is the first Fran video I've watched. I design electronic products, and even though I will never make a T-shirt – I don't even wear T-shirts – I found the video utterly fascinating, and I'm now a subscriber. Who knows when some silk screening techniques might prove useful or when I might need to cut a slot in a wooden dowel? As an engineer, I want to know how everything works and how everything is made. The quality of the design, the level of engineering employed, and the extraordinarily clear depiction and description of the process are remarkable – as is that beautiful antique woodworking bench. I'm certainly looking forward to watching more Fran!
