I'd watch her even when she turned this into a knitting channel.

Fran, you don't have to make excuses to us, or anyone. I (dare I say "we"?) believe in you. I'm glad you've made this work for you, and I hope you can keep it going for a long time to come.

The subscription works well with the subscription tab, no bell (for visitors) needed and it does not look like YouTube reorders them. I use notifications only for channels which I need real time notifications. I can’t set that up to notify me for all channels which ask me to.

So you just need aliexpress to sponsor you and you can shill discount vacuum tubes!

What we really need is animated glitter text for the titles.

I get a recommendation for every single one of Frans videos on my homepage and I haven't clicked the bell.

I hate the thumbnails of pretty much 99.999% of all videos on YouTube. I don't need to see everyone making stupid faces every single video that gets posted. That trend really needs to die off, quickly.

I've resorted to manipulating the algorithm by hiding every ad and specifying them all as irrelevant because advertising is literally irrelevant to me. I also constantly hide videos, topics and channels in which I have zero interest. Seem to be working really well for me.

We will have to proactively search for the channels we want to view, rather than wait for “suggestions “. Let’s face it, if you want any modicum of control over your mind input, you will have to create your own algorithm so to speak…or others WILL do it for you…if you want to be a knee jerk pigeon just sit back and pull their levers! Also, as others have mentioned, if I have been offline for a bit, I take charge and go directly to the channels I prioritize and the kind of binge watch and watch everything I have missed in order of posting.

Blame the idiots on facebook who will click anything. Niece shared a link posted by a fraudster with comments about how brilliant they are. Asked why did you share a fraudsters info… Answer = because her friends did…

What annoys me most is when content creators moan about the platform they use.

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars M B says:

It seems you tube are going to go the same way as TV content is going in the UK. There is less and less educational content and more sensationalist ‘in your face’ content with reality TV showcasing irrelevant people who are only famous for being famous. Keep going Fran!!!

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Wayne Herby says:

Fran… just keep doing what you do 😀 [Upping my pledge].

    Wow! @funkster dot org
is exactly right. I have subscribed to a bunch of content creators that I enjoy. But, I quickly found that clicking the Bell resulted in LOTS of email notifications that became unwieldy. So, I unBelled most subscribed creators. When I log in I get suggested videos that include some subscribed content and some not. Over time I've noticed that some subscribed are missing. But I just tried the Subscriptions button and there they are. What a wonderful suggestion.

What they may find is people will seek out the channels that they like – I like FRANLAB and will find you on the web.

YouTube is the ultimate gaslighting platform when you think about it. As someone stated it’s a ‘blackbox’ with comment control info control and ‘reduced features’ for ‘bad things’ . The pidgins is a good example. Except unfortunately the humans are the pidgins in this example. The key ‘attractors’ are not different the birds get food , ‘content creators’ get ‘money’ for ‘likes’ and ‘views’ but as it’s a black box those ‘likes and view’ get thrown in your cage literally. But only if you do the ‘right’ thing.
