I'm suddenly hungry for Noxzema 🤔

The states put various levels of effort into their 1976 license plate designs. Michigan's was hands-down the best.

I wonder if they made this much of things at the centennial in 1876?
Also, it won't be long before the 250th…

Boy, have the current politicians thrown this out the door.

I was only 2 1/2 at the time but it still seemed like bicentennial stuff was everywhere (and seemed to stay around for a few years). I still have a bit of a soft sport for the Federal Graphics Improvement Program and "Standards Manual" era aesthetic (NASA worm logo included).

I remember going to see the American Freedom Train during the bicentennial celebrations, when the train came through Oklahoma City. I believe I was about 13 years old at the time.

LOL… even in 1976, they wanted us to "subscribe." 😅🤦‍♂ Nice job with the correction, as always.

And now the overpaid government, and its overpaid thugs, the cops, are destroying America. Oh well, we have outlasted most other representative republics and are doomed to die.

Were we ever that delightfully naive? I was 4 years out of high school. Had quit my job at New England Telephone, enrolled in acting classes and in late September left my family home, drove crosscountry to California to start my dream. $500 in my pocket, a couch to sleep on for 2 weeks and an expansive life ahead. Thanks Fran.

I was 10 years old. I remember that there was some sort of marketing campaign with Coca-Cola, or Pepsi Cola. Each individual can had a small portion of a much larger image when all were collected. Anyone remember that?
