And records aren't edible nor do they taste good at all.

Hi Fran, have enjoyed and subscribed for a while but never commented. Am a big 78 rpm and gramophone collector ๐Ÿ™‚ and also a fountain pen freak… Shellac is still used in my restorations of vintage and antique pens as a reversible adhesive. Just remembered I shouldnโ€™t forget my collection of antique furniture (or my gramophone cabinets)โ€”shellac was essential to the furniture industry as well. When I see people irreversibly polyurethaning furniture I think vandalism and used to cry…

They should change that ingredient to beetle butt cheese, that would make it far more appealing.

Shellac is a good electrical insulator. Used to be used on transformer windings.

I am determined to add beetle butt cheese into my vocabulary.

The fist professionally made record I was ever connected with was called a "lacquer" disk. Lasted maybe five or six plays before we decided we had been ripped off. It was on an aluminum disk. It would probably have lasted much longer if we had had a better turntable with much less than the three or four grams tracking force of the one we used.

You should put ""The Accordion Club 1964" in the title or in the description of this video. I am sure someone who actually saw the performance or was in the band or parent was in the band would love to find your video and listen. ๐Ÿ™‚

Shouldn't it be called lac-she__ then?
