I had a thought ages ago in a supermarket – that the one thing they sell that truly didn't exist 100 years ago is the Americium in the smoke detectors. It was created in a nuclear reactor.

There are filtering techniques to eliminate all that interference. And consider that there may be no more of that noise if a war breaks out and hits home. HAM you can do anywhere but in the city, yup. you need filtering on the antenna side. But there are ways for the willing! 🙂
