Is it a toy or a valuable tool? Both! And a pretty good sounding turntable at that. Enjoy!

Old vid but i would have done a piano wire spring and set it in the plastic. Keeps the hold and doesn't degrade as foam do . But cool anyways reminds me of dad talking about 1960s car record player he had back then

Would mounting vertical cause the bearing to wear out unevenly? I mean lp heavier tha blurays and bigger diameter.

Hi there, Fran. I to own this exact same record player. Though because we here in North America cannot use the same power adaptor that the player came with from Japan/China, might you with your extensive background & knowledge on the subject be able to tell me what type of adaptor (watts/voltage wise) this Canadian would have to purchase in order to get this player up & running?

I had a red white and blue one that was the coolest.

    I don’t think there’s such a thing as a mono speaker

I have a question , I think you might be the person to ask. I have one of these that is tracking at almost 6 grams which freaks me out.
I only play 45's on it , but of course do not want to damage them.
Do you think there might be a clever way to lessen the tracking force?

I think that the felt on the battery tray lid is to prevent the plastic from vibrating when sound is applied to the speaker

I saw one of those back in 1969 on my 6th grader year. The girl who owned it played a 45 with the song Aquarius by The Fifth Dimensions. This was a classic turn table playing a classic song. The sound is great. Thanks. Fran for this video on a classic portable record player.

I ordered mine 5/18 and it arrived yesterday 5/30. I bought a step down transformer to convert 120v to 100v and it's working great. I'll be taking it to work and hanging it on the wall.

Reminds me of those FisherPrice turntables you could buy back in the 90's.

I wouldn't use that weight tone arm on an expensive vinyl LP, cutie. Irreparable groove wear will result! – John
